My Blogger site is already approved for Google AdSense, and normal banner ads display fine across all my articles. Over the last two weeks, I have been creating Google Web Stories using 3schools Make Story 2.0, and they are getting decent traffic from Google Discover (around 1,500 views a day).
Inside MakeStory's right sidebar under Story Settings, I filled in both fields:
- AdSense Pub ID: ca-pub-XXXXXXXXXX
- Ads Slot ID: 1234567890
I published 6 stories, but when I swipe through them on my phone, zero ads appear between the slides. When I look at my AdSense report, the ad unit has 0 impressions.
Do Web Stories require a separate AdSense site approval, or is there a specific slide count rule before Google inserts an ad card? Would love to know how you guys configured yours!

How do you get Google AdSense ads to display inside Web Stories?
Google’s official amp-story-auto-ads system uses an automated placement algorithm. By Google's policy, auto ads will NOT display on stories with fewer than 8 slides.
Here is how the story ad algorithm works:
1.Google inserts the first ad card after the reader has viewed at least 6 or 7 slides.
2.If your story only has 5 or 6 slides total, the reader reaches the end before Google's ad server ever triggers the ad auction.
3.Subsequent ads appear only after every 8 additional slides.
Action to take: Expand your stories to 9 to 12 slides. Once you have at least 9 slides, Google will automatically insert a full-screen vertical ad card between slide 6 and 7!
When readers stop to think and tap a quiz answer, it slows down their swipe speed. That extra 4 seconds gives Google's ad server enough time to load a high-paying video ad on slide 7, which significantly boosts your AdSense RPM.
