I spend three to four hours designing my gaming thumbnails on Photoshop. On my large computer monitor, they look incredibly sharp and beautiful. But as soon as I upload them to YouTube, my Click-Through-Rate (CTR) drops to less than two percent. I feel like my text is too small or getting hidden on actual mobile feeds when people are scrolling fast. Is there any free tool where I can preview my thumbnail against competitors before publishing?

How to check if your YouTube thumbnail looks good on mobile and desktop before uploading?
1. Click the floating Settings button at the bottom.
2. Upload your thumbnail and type your planned video title.
3. Set 'Position' to 1st or 2nd to place your video right at the top.
Now you can see if your colors look dull or bright compared to other videos.
Always ensure your text has a dark drop shadow or border. This simple trick makes sure your white or yellow text remains readable in Light Mode.
1. Open the sidebar and click on the View Context dropdown.
2. Select Watch & Related from the list.
3. Change the 'Device Simulation' to Desktop.
Now you can see your video on the right-side list, exactly how a viewer sees it while watching another video on their laptop.
